The road to recovery...

Initial Consultation

At your initial consultation you will be asked to explain how your pain arose and how it impacts your everyday living, including any historic elements of your current complaint. Following this various posture checks and tests on the joints, muscles and nervous system will be carried out to arrive at a diagnosis. Your whole spine and extremities will be assessed to ensure the root cause of the problem is found and not just isolate it to your symptomatic area.

You will then have everything explained in detail. What’s causing your symptoms? Can chiropractic help? How much treatment may be required before you feel better? How can we help you achieve your goals?

Providing there is no need for further tests or imaging, Sarah will devise a personalised treatment plan tailored to your individual needs and goals. Your entire physical and psychological wellbeing will be taken into account because this can have an impact on your pain and response to care. Your treatment plan will therefore include health and lifestyle advice to encourage you to take an active role in your chiropractic journey and avoid future relapses. Our aim is not just to relieve your pain- but help you take control of it.

The road to recovery...

Treatment Begins

Treatment usually begins on the first visit. On subsequent visits treatments will last around 20 minutes.

Depending on how long you have had the problem, how severe it is, how you respond to treatment and more importantly how much of the advice you take on board will determine how many treatments you will need to feel well again.

Many patients opt for maintenance care once they feel better, receiving regular checkups to maintain their spine and nervous system functioning optimally and prevent relapses. It’s a bit like getting your car serviced or you brushing your teeth everyday and having dental checkups. Except you can replace cars and teeth, your spine is irreplaceable. However, it is entirely your own decision whether you chose to embark on maintenance care and benefit from optimal health and wellbeing.
